Adopt-a-Village

What do you mean, Adopt-a-Village?
There is an opportunity and a need to reduce human-elephant conflict...elephants and humans killing each other over competition for scarce resources.   We help villagers and elephants co-exist in harmony, yielding a multiple win-win solution.

Our Mission is:
“To foster and deliver healthcare for elephants
and promote the harmony and well-being of humans and elephants
where they share natural environments.”

Elephant Care International takes a community approach to saving elephants and humans. We support collaborative community-based projects that address the resource needs of rural villagers and elephants.

Both human and elephant deaths caused by conflict over natural resources can be mitigated by focusing on local village issues: supporting research on new elephant barriers and repellants; integrating community support with social and economic agencies; and providing alternative income means compatible with protecting elephant habitat.

If you or your organization would like to establish a collaborative arrangement to sponsor this work in one or more  villages, we would be pleased to work with you and provide  documentation of your sponsorship of your "adopted village."  This is a unique opportunity to see firsthand how your support is making a differenceone village at a time.

Think about it. If you are already involved in international rural development, this type of project helps you accomplish two goals at once. You help the peopleand you help preserve the environment.

Elephants are known as an umbrella species. That is one of the fascinating things about working with them.  When you protect habitat for elephants, at the same time you are protecting the habitat of hundreds of other plants and animals.  And, you are also protecting the forests that help prevent flooding and help us mitigate global warming.  It just makes sense.  Contact us
