Elephant Care international is proud to provide ongoing support to the Elephant Conservation Center (ECC) in Laos.

Through a MOU* with the ECC, we are helping to ensure the long-term conservation of Laos’ endangered Asian elephant populations.

As an official sponsor of the ECC's ECORE Program, our team provides specialized research knowledge and oversight, workshop and course development, professional instruction, and project fundraising. We provide our services free of charge.

Our Team

ECI’s Dr. Susan K. Mikota (DVM) and Dr. Janine L. Brown serve on the ECC's ECORE Scientific Committee, which brings together leading experts in conservation biology, veterinary science, elephant management, and ecological research. Under the leadership of Dr. Anabel Lopez Perez, ECC Wildlife Biologist and Head of Research & Education, this committee plays a key role in ensuring the scientific integrity of the ECC’s work.

Hollis Burbank-Hammarlund, Founder/Director of Work for Wild Life International (and ECI Support Team Member), works closely with the ECC/ECORE staff to provide professional program outreach, development, and fundraising support; she has been a sustaining parter of the Elephant Conservation Center since 2020.

*On behalf of the Elephant Conservation Center in Laos, Elephant Care International accepts and administers U.S.-based grant funds and donations.
